Fortis Healthcare has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the University of Utah, for specialised care in Emergency Medicine. As part of the agreement, Fortis and Utah University will develop courses for Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) and Fellowship programmes for Emergency Physicians (EPs).

Indian emergency medicine is set to drastically change in 2011. Some of the oldest organisations associated with EM in India have already started processes necessary to take EM to the mainstream in the fastest way possible, both for patient care, as well as, for education.

As details are flowing in, we are noting that our pioneers have initiated the biggest EM revolution to happen in Asia. With the celebration of EM getting official recognition (Read our previous article), long gone and dead, this seems to be what India needs.
