The State of Emergency Medical Services in India

The State of Emergency Medical Services in India
12-May-2012
Editors Desk

It has to be understood that routine doctors could not be relied upon providing emergency services in routine at emergency departments. Ideally, any medical graduate should be able to handle emergencies but it should be kept in mind that this is applicable in case of real time situations only (like out of the hospital scenario, for example, road accidents, emergencies in parties, etc., or in hospitals when emergency specialist are not present).

In an organized sector like district/tertiary hospitals, the emergency should be handled by the experienced emergency specialists only as this is the question of life and death.

Life in Their Hands

Life in Their Hands

The role of emergency physicians is unique and completely different from other specialists. They have to think quickly and make remarkably good decisions with a terrifying lack of information. Saving human life is a challenging task and it is a social responsibility. All people, that is everyone, should learn first aid.
