Know More

The SEMI is the oldest and the first Indian organization created for the development of emergency medicine (EM) in India. It was formed in 1999 with its first meeting conducted at EMCON 1999, the first Indian National Conference in Emergency Medicine. In the year 2000, SEMI was responsible for the accreditation & the spread of the 1 year Fellowship in Emergency Medicine, the first formal academic training program in emergency medicine in India.

SEMI conducts the EMCON National Conferences annually, which are currently the largest gathering of qualified emergency physicians in the country. EMCONs provide a rich environment for sharing knowledge, scientific progress, local research and networking with the emergency medicine community in India. Faculty & resident lectures, hands-on workshops, oral & poster presentations on research, academic panel discussions, quizzes, exercises, young talent awards, faculty interactions, etc, form the core of these conferences. The 15th EMCON was conducted at Calicut in November 2013.
