Dr Narendranath Jena, Head of Accident & Emergency Medicine at MMHRC, is the course coordinator for PGDEM. Dr. Jena had completed his own certification in emergency medicine at the prestigious emergency department at Christian Medical College Vellore. He has been promoting emergency medicine in the city of Madurai for more than 3 years.

He stressed the need for general practitioners to take up this course to strengthen their emergency skills and treat their patients with confidence. Dr. Arul also spoke about the enormous job opportunities for those undergoing training in emergency medicine, as this specialty is in high demand and the number of trained doctors is negligible.
